Desktop and Notebook Equipment Panel
The Desktop and Notebook Equipment Panel contract is a mandatory State Purchasing Contract (SPC) and was established following a review of the PC and Notebook equipment Panel. For details on the SPC Policy please see the policy index section of the VGPB website.
The panel was refreshed in May 2009 for a 3 year period with two x 1 year options to extend and is managed by the Government Services Division (GSD) at the Department of Treasury & Finance (DTF).

Benefits for Government
The Panel provides a number of advantages when purchasing Desktop and Notebook Equipment:
- Panel contractors can be engaged with ease. Contract terms have been agreed to in advance, and purchasing arrangements can be established via a Customer Services Agreement (CSA) (87 KB DOC).
- Purchasing processes have been simplified. Only one written quotation is required for purchases below $1M, while three written quotations are required for purchases of $1M and over. A written quote is considered to be the pricing and product information downloaded from the confidential information section of this website
- The panel provides increased levels of quality assurance and value to Government.
- Cost avoidance for Government Departments via reduced purchasing costs
- Competition amongst Panel members
- Update products available for purchase to meet needs of all Inner & Outer Government Departments.
- Reduce exceptions purchasing.

Outer Budget Agencies and Non Crown Bodies
All Outer Budget Agencies, i.e. any body not bound by VGPB policies including universities and authorities, and Non Crown Bodies are eligible to purchase from this contract. Existing Panel members as detailed within the eligible purchasers document are not required to re-apply for access to the Panel, any new agencies must complete the Application to Access (84 KB DOC) documentation and email to the Category Manager.
